The whole show was dire, thanks to the weather. The Apache pottered about under the cloud, the F16 made a bit of a noise and gave us a little after-burner entertainment. The Vixen was rather lovely and gorgeously loud....but, as I told the BG ,she was a mere mouse squeaking compared with the big one...(at that stage, she was still scheduled to fly). To cap off a rip-off day, we went on a Eurofighter(no-show) flight simulator and it was PANTS! I went on a brill Harrier one at another show, screaming through the lochs...ace-mega excitement..but this was about as thrilling as trundling down Sidmouth High Street in a cripplecart..or a pram......GRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Why am I Such an Oxy Moron?

The will he fly/won't he fly Vulcan affair was nearly as exciting as the drawn test match in Cardiff.
ReplyDeleteTant pis.
Now calm down for a little while. Maybe you should take up flying? What a gal you are!
ReplyDeleteSorry, Idle...it was on the tedious side!
ReplyDeleteHave calmed down....a bit!
I accept probs with weather but felt let down by no euro fighter, the french had to show us the way again (excellent display by the rafiel). Why was the vulcan not tested early on (could have been fixed in the 5hrs) instead of waiting till the afternoon? I would have felt better if they had cancelled the vulcan due to weather, easier to stomach than another tech let down. Can the vulcan recover from the bad press?
