I have become rather attached to this one...so I'll have to paint another pic including the pumpkin because I have booked a 'still life with pumpkin' pic into an exhibition in Axminster.
The birdies are salt and pepper holders from Alessi's chinoise range. They don't really work but they look rather wackily groovy....well, I think so, anyway!
It's nearly RIP Germaine time...I wondered if I should put an end to her slow demise today but I am ashamed to say that I chickened out (pardon the pun) and have just tucked her up warm in the hope that she will just go to sleep and not wake up.

Really like the picture.
ReplyDeleteYou often get still lives (lifes?) with dead pheasants, don't you? How about immortalising the saintly Germaine alongside the trad fruit 'n' veg?
Just caught up with news of Germaine. Take heart from the splendid life she has had. Thought the idea from Alceste was brilliant. You could paint her asap after death and provide a suitable background. Toodle Pip.
