...is essential. Those lavender trews simply will not do!
Lovely day being wafted round Somerset by a dear, dear friend in his (Not Ugly) Betty. He owns a hat for every occasion...and maybe trousers, too...
The last time i travelled any distance in a Bentley, I had to ask the proud owner whether I could drive it myself or risk the cream leather unholstery in the absence of any sick bags. This beast gave a very different ride from the Mulsanne Turbo and I felt fine. My chauffeur very generously offered me a turn behind the wheel...but I refused on this occasion. A half of Otter Bright and a small glass of rose made me feel both reckless and cautious at the same time...not a good combo...and given that the running costs were described by Clarkson as 'towering', I imagine even the teensiest ding to Betty's immaculate paintwork would cost at least an arm, if not a leg as well. Those roads around the S&BV country are on the narrow side and I'd be bound to run across, if not into, a tractor. Another time perhaps....when I am wearing the right hat!
By the way, take a look at the GORGEOUS house he has for sale...Jackson-Stops , Sherborne office, property ref 34364. There is, in addition, a fabulous chunk of the Manor available. ...

Wish I hadn't read this. Now insanely jealous and realise my v6 Vectra will simply not compete in taking you for a ride. Toodle pip.
ReplyDeleteI was whisked back from Twickers in a Bentley this evening. Very comfortable, if slightly German.
ReplyDeleteI have the urge to lick it all over.
ReplyDeleteLexander: Neither your Vectra nor the Bentley can win my affections..I'm an Aston Martin girl!
ReplyDeleteIdle...yes, VERY comfortable! It wasn't the same Bentley by any chance? Betty was also at Twickers!
E-K: Put your tongue away, you naughty boy!

ReplyDeleteI should be introducing this to my set by Spring at the latest. I'll drop you a line about forthcoming gigs then.
Well ... I'd travel miles just to see that rendition alone !
