'Jerusalem', Apollo Theatre

Make no mistake, Mark Rylance deserves every accolade he gets. His performance of Johnny 'Rooster' Byron is utterly mesmerising...one of, if not THE, best performances I have ever seen of anybody in anything ( get the picture?!). The play itself is far from flawless..and any interchange that does not directly involve Johnny fails to convince in quite the same way, but it is high impact...not least because of the barrage of F and C words. Strangely, these give no offence until used with venom and rancour...otherwise they seem like the rather quaint OE words they are!

New work

'What Lies Beneath'. Mixed media, approx 70cm w x 57cm h.
Can't bring myself to comment on Bushybrows' patchwork of nicked ideas and empty wafflings. Gordon declared in 2000 that everyone would have a bank account under his chancellorship, but in fact the number of people with such a thing has dropped by a third. Do they think they'll get our money back from the banks by dribbling in the paltry pickings from the financially-unwashed or what??

Starfish carnage

There's a little eco tragedy playing out at Budleigh Salterton...a zillion starfish washed up in a long, narrow ribbon along the shore. Why? Nobody knows. The sea ripped them from their moorings and spat them onto the beach, where they die in bejewelled mounds.

Off to Cheltenham tomorrow..WOOHOO!

WHY isn't the media covering Brown's vile mendacity? How come Ashcroft is bigger news than lies to Chilcott? Biased media or what? It's a scandal...and a tragedy for all those whose loved ones have come back from Iraq and Afghanistan in a box. The man's shameless craving for power and evil disregard for truth knows no limits.

Show's over...

Taken down and packed up. A bit how I feel!
Next thing is to build a website so I can have a virtual gallery.
NAUSEATED to hear McMental on Woman's Hour responding with tha hideously contrived joviality to inane remark about him being ' a bit of a fitness freak'...HELLO?!! 'Freak' I can agree with...

R.I.P. Little

I am distraught. I know she's (was) just a bird,but..
I am not getting any more. It's too heartbreaking. I know it's nature. I know it's what happens...but it really does not get any easier to be sanguine, especially when you find a pile of exquisite lemon and charcoal-tipped feathers only 30 metres from the front door. She had done so well getting through the winter and roosting up in the trees and the BASTARD had to bloody eat her. I am sorry about the language but I am incandescent.

SPRING?

Mr P is convinced that it is spring. Mrs P actually decided to pay him a bit of attention but she, like me, seemed to have a bit of a snigger when he showed her the other side of that magnificent tail...those frilly bloomers really are most unflattering and undermine his male credentials somewhat!

Book news

I don't mean to be vain, but every now and then  I google my Devon/Dorset name and my old city name...Under the former ( though chronologically the latter!) I find that that my first book now has a cover and a publication date of September 2010, which is great! Cheered me up no end!
